One World Drumming

There will be a sharing celebration for all students who have been participating in One World Drumming this week on Thursday February 27 at 1:00 pm:

• PM Kindergarten
• Rooms 3, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12 and 16

Parents and Guardians are welcome to attend. There will be limited seating available.  Each classes performance will be approximately 5 minutes long.

Hello families!

Yesterday morning we had a presentation from the Bonavista Eye Clinic and their mascot Fribbit! Each chid brought home some information and an eye ring. 

One World Drumming
On Monday we began One World Drumming Artist in Residence program. This company will be working with our school for the next two weeks. We are very excited about this unique experience! Our gym is the only space large enough to host these sessions so our PE time for the next two weeks will be a combination of classroom activities and outdoor activities!

Just a reminder that  there is no school on Friday. It is a PD day.

Winter walk day today

Dear Parents,
We had a fabulous day today at Leighton Arts center.  Thank you to the volunteers who were able to come out and the students who represented LBS with Grace and Courtesy. 
We have planned a little party tomorrow morning. If your child would like to, they are welcome to bring in valentine cards for exchange. They are welcome to bring in a board game to play during the morning.
Also a reminder that 2pm families are welcome to come and read with your child tomorrow afternoon until end of day.
The family dance is tomorrow night as well.

Hello Families,
Just a reminder that tomorrow we have our field trip to Leighton Arts Center. The bus leaves promptly tomorrow morning between 8;30 and 8:45.
Please be sure to pack a lunch and water bottle.  There is a portion of the day where we go on a nature walk so please have your child dressed with boots, snow pants, mittens, winter jacket and a hat.  We look forward to a very fun day.

Hello Families,
We had our last netball game today! Ask me about netball.
Just a reminder that next week is a short week. Tuesday is our field trip. Please be sure to dress your child for any kind of weather as a portion of the field trip is outside. Students need to bring lunch and water bottle.

On Wednesday morning students will have an opportunity to exchange valentine cards. If your child would like to, they can bring valentine cards for exchange. Please be sure to have one for every child. It is not necessary to include name on the cards- just who the card is from is perfect.
Wednesday afternoon is Family Literacy afternoon starting 2:00 pm. Hope to see you there.

Save the Date! 

On Wednesday, February 12^th, 2020, students at Lake Bonavista School will be celebrating Family Literacy Day!

The theme for Family Literacy Day 2020 is “Let’s Read Together”. Students will gather together to participate in a whole-school literacy assembly in the afternoon, followed by an opportunity for families to come and read together in our school environment.  

Please join us on February 12^th, 2020 starting at 2:00pm and “Let’s Read Together”!
