Hello on March 31

Dear Families,

I want to thank each and everyone of you so much for your emails and answering all of the questions. They will help in guiding me to best support your child’s learning at home. It is quite a difficult time with all of us handling and dealing with life in very different circumstances.  We all need to remember to be patient with our family, ourselves and each other as we enter into a new way of learning/working.
As our learning settles into a routine I will be posting blogs, school messenger and See Saw messages. All of these platforms are familiar to all of the Room 10 families. I apologize if you receive multiple messages as some families have access to only certain types of communication. Please disregard if you have read the message once before but I want to be sure to reach all of the students and their families.
I have added some assignments to our See Saw page. I will attach the instructions to this message as well as on the blog.
I have a printed copy of your child’s Home Learning Code that you will need to sign into the I’M A STUDENT place on the See Saw home page. PLEASE EMAIL ME IF YOU NEED THIS CODE AND I WILL EMAIL IT TO YOU. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need support. Working through these programs can be very frustrating. I have included my daughter in our class so I could see what parents see and navigate myself through the program.

I forgot to include the Blends and Digraphs attachment yesterday for work work.

Again thank you so very much for your dedication to your child’s ongoing learning! You are all doing a fabulous job!! I am hoping that we will be able to somehow have the students connect and be able to see one another. We are still working through this process.
Have a wonderful day.
Love,
Mrs. Green

First Day of Spring????

Hello Families,
I hope this message finds you and your families healthy and safe!  I wanted to let you know that I have added some assignments to your child's See Saw account. Please let me know if you need any extra support figuring out how to access it from home. I am happy to send some log in instructions if necessary.  I thought I would post a few photos of Sali and Mander. I cleaned their tank, and put in brand new soil and they seem to be loving the changes. Can you find them in the photo below?
They will be going on a Spring Break trip to our Room 10 friend's house. Thank you to that family for having them over break.

I wanted to share this link to some resources suggested by the CBE for learning at home https://cbe.ab.ca/programs/curriculum/learning-at-home/Pages/k-6.aspx

These are just for you to use if you'd like, but there is no expectation for home learning at this time.

This web pagehttp://school.cbe.ab.ca/school/lakebonavista/teaching-learning/learning-commons-library/resource-list/pages/default.aspx will be updated regularly and is a good resource for commonly used web-based resources.
Plans have not been created around longer-term planning for student learning, again please check your emails frequently for more information.

UPDATE

If this link is not working for you, try the following steps:

Click: Teaching and Learning –> Learning Commons/Library –> Resource Lists & Advice

This should take you to the same place!
Take care and bye for now.
Love,
Mrs. Green

Updates RE: COVID-19

Updates RE: COVID-19

Hello Families,

I hope this message finds you well. Here are some important things to keep in mind this week at school:

1. Students need a personal water bottle at school to prevent the spread of germs, this bottle will be sent home for cleaning daily

2. Check CBE website for updates

3. Did you receive an email from LBS on Thursday March 12? if not, email LakeBonavista@cbe.ab.ca

4. If you are keeping your child home from school, please feel free to continue with daily reading practice, writing practice, and playing the math games that will be posted on the blog

5. AHS has directed school to have a ‘Zero Tolerance’ for students or staff with any respiratory symptoms – cough, headache, muscle ache, fatigue, sore throat, fever -  "Students or staff who develop respiratory symptoms should be kept home for 14 days after the start of the symptoms. If students or staff are tested for COVID-19, those who test negative will be advised individually about return to school/child care settings." - CBE Communications

 6. Non-CBE adults are to minimize contact by staying outside the school as much as possible, this means there will be no parent volunteers entering the school until further notice, and parents are asked to wait outside of the school (or inside of vehicles) when picking up children

7. At this time, there will still be a fun lunch on Thursday, teachers will be assisting with fun lunch distribution as there will be no parent council volunteers

Thanks for your support navigating this difficult time!
Mrs. Green
