See Saw and Infographics

Good morning everyone.

I wanted to let families know that I have assigned two more work choices today on See Saw. Please feel free to work at your own pace. I am available to answer any questions you may have. On Monday of next week you will be receiving an email and blog post regarding your child's next week of learning. We will continue to use See Saw as our main platform for learning next week with some printable resources attached to email. I'm excited to get started with our learning. In the email next week I will include available times for phone calls and google meet chat's(I have the student log in information). This is the beginning of our journey. I want to make sure this transition is as easy as possible. There may be times of frustration but please know I am here to answer any questions and support how ever I can. Have a wonderful weekend.
LBS has designed 4 different activities for families to do at home. As with all of our work this is optional. Please feel free to email photos of your creations.
Love, Mrs Green

Virtual Learning Starts Again Today - MiamiSprings.com | Miami ...

Good morning Families,
Happy April! I hope all families are in good health and taking care of themselves. I woke up early this morning to create a video about choosing a place in nature to observe and explore the changes in our seasons.  This is something that can be done in your backyard, from a window in your room, or on a walk with your family.

I have included a little bit of information about the sit spot.

sit spot (or secret spot) is simply a favorite place in nature that you visit regularly to cultivate awareness as you expand your senses and study patterns of local plants, birds, trees, animals, etc.

Animals and plants are living secret lives all around us all the time. As we become more aware of nature, we can become connected to them as fascinating beings we share the world with. Though it may seem obvious, these animals are individuals with their own temperaments, territories, styles and sometimes families. To some extent, we can become participants in their stories, which are perennially unfolding on the landscape.

One of the best ways to do this is simply by spending time outdoors sitting in quiet awareness. By instinct people are drawn to find a particular place in nature that they visit over and over. This is known as your Sit Spot. By visiting the same place in nature many times, a relationship is developed; you get to know the place in all kinds of weather, many times of day, throughout the seasons, and from a variety of your own states of mind.

A Sit Spot can become like an anchor in your life -- a place to settle down, cultivate present-moment awareness and a quieter mind, and to observe the flow of reality occurring around you. It's also a place where you can notice what the animals are up to. And they can get to know you.

By visiting your Sit Spot, you may begin to discover which birds tend to sing first at sunrise, where the deer like to bed down, and where a robin sits fluffed over sky-blue eggs. Over time, you can notice the changes that occur with the plants and animals of your spot, how they interact, what their rhythms and routines are, and where new events come into play.

If you would like you can google Kainai Plant Index. You will be able to see the many local plants that you can find possibly in your backyard, on a walk or in your neighborhood.
Have a wonderful day,
Love,
Mrs. Green
