Happy October Families,
It has been a wonderful warm start to fall. For this reason we have been enjoying our time outside for Physical Education using the parachute, frisbees, skipping ropes as well as playing/learning cooperative games.
We have been learning new math games to support our investigation of number and place value of numbers:
Daily L.A
Our study of letters and their corresponding sound continues. Students are working at their level using the sounds they hear to create words and/or simple/super sentences. Ask me about the difference between a simple sentence or a super sentence. Ask me to spell my name without the vowels.
Conventions
We use the below strategy to help us remember to leave spaces between our words. That way, when read the message we are able to communicate understanding to our intended audience.
Artist in Residence
During our first session we investigated books by Peter H. Reynolds. We noticed how he used line and color in his art. We used beets and marigolds to paint. Look at our work below:
We are looking to have volunteers come into the classroom. If you have your police clearance and would like to come in please email Mrs. Green. Please send a set of headphones in with your to use on occasion throughout the day.
